The acting Governor of Adamawa State, Alhaji Umaru Fintiri, yesterday,
commiserated with the Lamido of Adamawa, Dr. Barkindo Aliyu Musdafa,
over the death of over 30 of his subjects during recent attacks by
Boko Haram insurgents.
The acting governor, who received the paramount ruler at the
Government House for Sallah homage, condoled with him over the
attacks in Garkida and Hong communities.
He described the incidents as unfortunate and prayed God to grant the
families of the deceased the fortitude to bear the irreparable losses.
The royal father said the emergence of the acting governor was an act
of God and noted that what the state needed was the loyalty and total
support of all natives.
The acting governor, who had earlier appointed royal fathers as
advisers, told his guest that although he took over a state that was
degraded, the challenges were not insurmountable.
The royal father pledged to support the transitional administration
in the state for the progress of the state. The Lamido of Adamawa, who
led other emirs and chiefs to pay Sallah homage to the acting
governor, charged him to see his office as God-given.
The Lamido reminded the acting governor that no man gave him the seat,
and charged him to use the office for the advancement of the state.
