Ninety-two bodies and 56 new cases of the Ebola virus have been found
in Sierra Leone as the three-day lockdown, imposed by the country's
government on September 19 comes to an end, Sky News reported Sunday,
citing official reports.

"There is a very strong possibility it [the lockdown] will be
extended," Stephen Gaojia, head of the EmergencyOperations Center, was
quoted by Sky News as saying.

According to Sky News, an overall number of 123 people referred to the
medical services during the government-imposed stay of which 56 tested
positive for the virus.

On September 21, the government of Sierra Leone has introduced the
"Ose to Ose Ebola Tok" campaign that was to last September 19 through
September 21. As part of the campaign, 7136 trained teams comprising
health workers, volunteers and NGO representatives were reported to
visit households throughout the country to provide them with
information about the virus.

The worst Ebola epidemicin history began in southern Guinea at the end
of 2013 and soon spread to Liberia, Sierra Leone and Nigeria. The
death toll is estimated to be above 2,400. There is no officially
approved medication for the Ebola virus, and experts claim prevention
is the only cure. Several countries, including Russia, the United
States, the United Kingdom, Canada and Japan, are currently working on
vaccines.
