Imo Indigenes Berate INEC's CVR And PVC Distribution Exercise

Indigenes of Imo State have berated the Independent National Electoral
Commission (INEC) for the inability of numerous indigenes of the state
to partake in the Continuous Voters Registration exercise before its
closing date.

This came after the closure of the third phase of the Continuous
Voters Registration exercise on November 19.

Residents of Imo State who anticipated the continuation of the
exercise on Thursday were disappointed as no INEC officials showed up
at the centres.

Residents said that the INEC officials had complained of technical
faults from their machines which has slowed down the process.

They said that many people were yet to register and many who had
registered had not collected the registration slips.

They called on INEC to extend the date or better still make it a
continuous process and also decentralize the process so that many
people can register at their different polling units.
