Nyanya Bombing: Ogwuche's Arraignment Stalled

The arraignment of Aminu Ogwuche and six other accused persons
suspected of master minding the Nyanya bomb blast which claimed 75
lives on April 14, 2014 has been stalled following the absence of a
counsel to represent some of the accused persons.

The seven accused persons who are to be arraigned before Justice Ahmed
Mohammed on a seven count charge of terrorism are Aminu Ogwuche, Ahmad
Abubakar, Mohammed Ishaq, Ya'u Saidu, Anas Isah, Adamu Yusuf and
Nasiru Abubakar.

Following the absence of counsel for five out of the seven accused
persons, the trial judge, Justice Ahmed Mohammed, fixed February 20 as
the new date for the arraignment of the accused persons.

Aminu Ogwuche and the six other accused persons are alleged to have
conspired and committed an act of terrorism by driving and later
detonating a car laden with improvised explosive devices which claimed
75 lives on April 14, 2014.

The incident happened at El-Rufai Park in Nyanya located on the
outskirts of the Federal Capital Territory.

An eighth accused person, Ahmed Abubakar, who is at large had his name
deleted from the charge sheet.
