Enugu Water Concession: APC Vows To Resist Deal

Enugu State chapter of All Progressives Congress, APC, has vowed to
resist moves by Governor Sullivan Chime's administration to concession
Enugu City water supply for 25 years to a private company, AG Gold
Trust Ltd, describing it as a conversion of public utility to a
private property.

This came as the Enugu State House of Assembly issued a resolution to
Water Corporation and the executive, suspending the concession which
it insisted was unconstitutional.

Following the concession controversy, Managing Director,Water
Corporation,Chibuzo Aka was fired last week for refusing to hand over
to the benefiting company.

APC Chairman, Enugu State, Mr. Ben Nwoye, said:"It is a consistent
practice with the PDP to acquire public utilities for personal use.
