Enyimba Can Still Beat Pillars To The Title - Ikhana

Enyimba manager Kadiri Ikhana says his team will get better and keep
fighting for the league crown, despite succumbing to a 1-0 defeat to
Akwa United in a week 26 fixture of the Nigeria professional football
league on Wednesday.

A Kufre Ebong goal late in the first half condemned Enyimba to another
loss, which now leaves them four points off leaders, Kano Pillars.

But Ikhana still believes his players will keep improving.

"It was a painful loss, but we will keep improving. It wasn't a very
good game for us, but I know the players are determined to win the
title so we will keep working and keep improving," he told sl10.ng.

The seven time league champions would have gotten to within a point of
Pillars, if they had won, but the loss means they're still third on
the log, with Nasarawa United, who lost 3-0 to Crown, still second
with a point better.

Kano Pillars' 1-1 draw with Taraba means they have the lead, but
Ikhana says it can all change in two games.

"We all know how unpredictable the league is and because Pillars are
top now doesn't mean they can't lose," he added. They're just four
points ahead of us and that could change in two games."

"It's just for us to keep improving and keep winning games.

"We can beat them."

Enyimba will host Bayelsa United at the Aba Township Stadium on
Sunday, with the hope that the improvements will start there.
