2015 AFCON Crash: Nike Refuses To Renew Contract With NFL After Super Eagles Fail To Qualify

Following the Super Eagles' failure to qualify for the 2015 Africa Cup
of Nations in Equatorial Guinea, top kit manufacturers like Nike,
Umbro and Puma have turned down contract overtures made to them by the
Nigeria Football Federation.

Even Adidas whose kits contract with NFF expires at the end of
December 2014 are not showing interest in the plea by the football
ruling body to sign a new contract after they gave notice of
withdrawal from the kit sponsorship deal.

Complete Sports gathered that NFF's concerted efforts to placate
Adidas to renegotiate a fresh contract has not been fruitful and the
other kit sponsors are not forthcoming with a deal.

Adidas blamed their withdrawal on the players and officials of Super
Eagles,especially one of the team's coaches who breached the
contractual agreement during the World Cup in Brazil by wearing kits
of rival kits supplier, Nike.

A chieftain of the NFF told the media in Abuja yesterday that the
federation has intensified efforts to get Adidas to renege on their
withdrawal or get a new kits sponsor but the task has become very
difficult because the Eagles failed to qualify for next January's
AFCON.

"NFF is working hard to get a fresh deal with a kit firm. We won't
make their names public until the deal is sealed for fear of Adidas
and Nike frustrating them. The truth is that we are discusing with a
top, top kit manufacturing firm,'said the NFF official,adding that the
federation may face a hard time if the on-going discussion fails to
yield a positive fruit.

"The national teams will face kits crisis in 2015 if no deal is
reached before the first quarter of next year. It is regrettable that
Super Eagles officials and players went ahead to breach the Adidas
contract despite several meetings with them.

"Adidas has been one of our best kits suppliers in recent years but
the Super Eagles players and officials breached the contract during
the world cup. The annoying aspect is that the same Nike they used to
slight Adidas eventually rejected us when we approached them for a kit
sponsorship deal,"he added.

"They turned us down because we did not qualify for next year's AFCON
in Equatorial Guinea. The chances of Nigeria getting a kit supplier
now is very slim considering that we will not be in AFCON'.

The NFF revealed further that the federation are also considering the
option of going to China to design and produce kits for our national
teams if they failed to tie down a deal before the first quarter of
next year.

10 Natural Remedies For Kidney Stones

Wait 30 minutes. Then, squeeze the juice of 1/2 lemon into 12 ounces
of purified water, add 1 tablespoon of organic raw apple cider vinegar
and drink. Repeat the lemon juice, water and apple cider vinegar
recipe every hour until symptoms improve.

2. Uva Ursi

Uva Ursi is a common folk remedy for kidney stones. Not only will it
help fight off infection in the kidneys, but it may also help reduce
pain and cleanse the urinary tract. 500mg three times a day is
recommended for kidney stones.

3. Dandelion Root

Organic dandelion root is a great kidney tonic and cleanser. Taking up
to 500 mg twice a day may be beneficial.

4. Kidney Beans

The shape of this bean may be indicative of its healing potential. An
effective urinary home remedy for kidney stones, traditionally the
pods were used as a medicinal tonic.

Try removing the beans from inside the pods, and then boil the pods in
purified hot water for six hours. This liquid can be strained through
cheese cloth, cooled and taken throughout the day for one day to ease
kidney stone pain.

5. Horsetail

Horsetail tea is an effective natural remedy for kidney stones. Drink
up to 3-4 cups of horsetail tea daily or 2 grams of the herb in
capsule form daily.

6. Pomegranate Juice

We've all heard that pomegranates have many health benefits. But, more
specifically, the seeds and juice of pomegranates can be considered
another natural remedy for kidney stones. This may be related to their
sourness and astringent properties. I prefer eating organic
pomegranates and drinking freshly-squeezed pomegranate juice.

7. Magnesium

Studies show that people with recurrent kidney stones who took
magnesium supplements had a 92.3 percent improvement rate in reduction
of kidney stones. 300 mg of magnesium orotate is recommended daily for
prevention and reduction of stones.

8. Organic Celery

Celery in vegetable form and celery seed are great urine-promoters and
kidney tonics. Regular use of celery seed, as a spice or as a tea, may
prevent kidney stone formation.

9. Basil

A kidney tonifier, basil tea can be taken throughout the day for
overall kidney health. If you have kidney stones, try taking one
teaspoon each of basil juice with raw honey daily for up to six
months. It's believed that folk remedies with pure basil juice can
help induce stone expulsion from the urinary tract.

10. Change in Diet

Unhealthy food intake is a primary cause of kidney stones. Cut down on
the amount of soda and energy drinks you consume. Avoid processed
foods and alcoholic beverages. Add more fruits and veggies to your
diet, especially those listed above.

Thierry Henry confirmed on Monday that he has played his final game
for the New York Red Bulls.

"On behalf of the New York Red Bulls I would like to thank Thierry
Henry for the incredible impact he has made on both our organization
and the American soccer community as a whole," the Red Bulls general
manager, Marc de Grandpre said. "He is truly one of the all-time great
talents and will forever hold a special place within the
organisation's history. We wish Thierry all the best for his future."

The 37-year-old's final match was a 2-2 draw on Saturday which meant
the Red Bulls were beaten 4-3 on aggregate by New England Revolution
in the Eastern Conference Championship play-off.

"The decision has always been that I would leave after the duration of
my contract," Frenchman Henry said.

Henry signed for the Red Bulls in July 2010 and has made a huge
contribution on the field - he is their second all-time leading scorer
- while helping boost their profile off it. In total, he scored 51
goals in 122 appearances for the team.

Nigeria Halts U.S. Training Programme For Military

The Nigerian government has ended the US government's training
programme for Nigerian soldiers.

The Nigerian government requested for the suspension of the programme
less than a month after Washington said it refused to sell the country
Cobra attack helicopters.

"At the request of the Nigerian government, the United States will
discontinue its training of a Nigerian Army battalion," the US Embassy
in the capital, Abuja, said in an e-mailed statement.

The training programme was designed to help Nigeria battle the
Islamist militant group, Boko Haram.

The US turned down the helicopter request "due to concerns about
Nigeria's ability to use and maintain this type of helicopter in its
effort against Boko Haram and ongoing concerns about the Nigerian
military's protection of civilians when conducting military
operations," State Department spokeswoman, Jen Psaki said in
Washington on November 12.

Nigeria's military, under the leadership of President Goodluck
Jonathan, is struggling to deal with intensifying attacks by the
Islamist militant group Boko Haram.

The insurgents have killed more than 13,000 people since 2009,
according to Jonathan.

Suspected Boko Haram members carried out two attacks on cities in
Nigeria's north-east on Monday, killing at least five people, same day
that the US released a statement halting the military training.

"We regret premature termination of this training, as it was to be the
first in a larger planned project that would have trained additional
units with the goal of helping the Nigerian Army build capacity to
counter Boko Haram," the embassy said.

Bird Flu: Three Egyptians Die Of H5N1 Virus

Three people have died in the past week after contracting the H5N1
avian influenza virus in Egypt, the country's health ministry has
said.
Egypt has now confirmed 11 cases of the virus in people this year,
including the six who have died.

The most recent victims were a 40-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman
from the central province of Minya, and a 25-year-old woman in nearby
Beni Suef.

A two-year-old girl who had the virus was meanwhile said to have recovered.

H5N1 is a type of influenza virus that causes a highly infectious,
severe respiratory disease in birds.

Human cases of H5N1 avian influenza occur occasionally, but it is
difficult to transmit the infection from person to person. When people
do become infected, the mortality rate is about 60%.

Between 2003 and October 2014 there were 668 confirmed human cases of
H5N1 infection in 15 countries, leading to 393 deaths, according to
the World Health Organization (WHO).

Egypt has reported 177 of the confirmed cases and 63 of the deaths.

The health ministry said the first death resulting from H5N1 in the
country this year happened in June.

The al-Ahram newspaper reportedthat emergency procedures were put in
place at hospitals in November after two deaths in the same week - a
30-year-old woman in Minya and a 19-year-old woman in Assiut.

the German Bundesliga season at Hertha Berlin on Saturday.

The Dutch winger's curled effort found the inside of the net just
before the half-hour mark.

A half-hearted display by Hertha failed to inspire an equaliser,
instead it was Robert Lewandowski who twice came close to extending
the Bavarians' lead.

Man City Leapfrog Saints Into 2nd Place

Manchester City secured a 3-0 win at Southampton to leapfrog the
