according to FlightAware's activity log.

Woman Marries Herself After Being Single For 6 Years

Grace Gelder was so fed up with the dating scene and single life that
she decided to become the first person in Britain to marry HERSELF.

Grace decided to commit to the most important person in her life,
'proposed' to herself last November on a park bench and staged a full
wedding ceremony with 50 guests. According to her, after being single
for six years she had built up a brilliant relationship with herself -
and creating that bond with someone else seemed like too much hard
work.

Inspired by the Björk song Isobel, which includes the line, 'My name's
Isobel, married to myself', the Londoner said the lyric struck a chord
with her and it was then she decided to walk solo down the aisle.

Grace bought a dress, a ring, rehearsed vows and eventually wed in a
farmhouse in rural Devon watched by her sister and friends -sealing
the deal by planting a kiss on a mirror. Speaking to the Guardian, she
said:

"A few did comment, in a light-hearted way, that it was a bit
narcissitic. Obviously, if you have just announced you're marrying
yourself, it is plainly a statement of self-love, and I was under no
illusion how self-indulgent that might appear. But I was completely
comfortable with my motivations. I'd been on a journey of personal
development using meditation, dance and performance to increase my
self-awareness. Included in this was a Shakti Tantra programme focused
on sexuality and how this was bound up with making agreements with
yourself and other people.

Sitting on that park bench, it dawned on me that a self-marriage
ceremony witnessed by other people would potentially be this massively
powerful means of making those agreements stick."

Grace was wed by her friend Tiu - a celebrant - who backed her plans
and said the deal would set her up for a new phase of life. But Grace
suffered a case of the pre-wedding jitters only a month before the big
day and had to be convinced she was doing the right thing.

Although the wedding holds no legal ground, Grace is glad she is no
longer a 'single' lady.
She added:

"It felt like a really big deal saying my vows, which were mostly
about me promising to take more risks in matters of the heart. I
really don't see it as any kind of feminist statement, but creating a
wedding of this kind on my own terms felt incredibly empowering."

Arsenal's Szczesny Wants Costa Tamed Ahead Of Chelsea Clash

Wojciech Szczesny says keeping Diego Costa quiet will be absolutely
vital to Arsenal's hopes of beating Chelsea on Sunday.

The Spanish striker only arrived in the summer but he has already
netted eight times in six Premier League games so far this season.

Szczesny is a keen admirer of the forward, and says Chelsea as a whole
would pose a major test for Arsène Wenger's side.

"Costa is incredible," the goalkeeper told Arsenal Player. "His
partnership with Cesc Fabregas and Eden Hazard has been incredible and
at the moment, he's looking as dangerous as any striker in the world.

"We've got huge respect for him and we know how dangerous he is. I
think he's scored in most games so it'll be a tough test.

"At the moment [Chelsea] are as good as you will get in Europe. They
score goals and they've always defended very well so it'll be a very
tough test but it's one that we're looking forward to.

"Hopefully we can leave last season's result behind us and show that
we can get the result against them."

Two Ebola Patients Flown To Germany And France Recover

Hamburg University Hospital on Saturday said that a Senegalese
researcher who contracted the Ebola virus in West Africa and flown to
Germany for treatment had made full recovery.

A statement by the hospital said that the researcher was the first
patient to be flown to Germany for Ebola treatment since the outbreak
of the disease.

It stated that the patient recovered several days ago and was
discharged on Friday.

"The man caught the virus while working in a laboratory in Sierra
Leone on behalf of the World Health Organisation.

"He arrived in Hamburg in late August and was one of two patients in
Germany for treatment.

"He is well and he has not been infectious for several days; we are
very pleased that he will now be able to return home,'' the hospital
said.

It was, however, reported that the doctor who treated man refused to
comment on the treatment administered, saying "merely that no
experimental medication was used."

A WHO report also said that a female caregiver who contracted Ebola
while working with Medecins Sans Frontieres in Liberia and was flown
to Paris for treatment also left the hospital after making a full
recovery.

The report further said that a second patient of the Ebola virus was
currently receiving treatment in Frankfurt University Clinic, Germany.

It stated that the patient was arrived Germany on Friday from Sierra
Leone, where he contracted the disease while treating patients on
behalf of an Italian aid group.

It, however, said that the hospital had declined to comment on the
man's health status.

Messi, Neymar On Target In Barca Win At Nine-Man Rayo

Barcelona recovered from their midweek defeat to Paris Saint-Germain
as goals from Lionel Messi and Neymar handed them a comfortable 2-0
win away to nine-man Rayo Vallecano on Saturday.

Valencia remained just two points behind the Catalans at the top of
the table with a 3-1 win over champions Atletico Madrid thanks to
three goals in the opening 13 minutes.

After resisting some early pressure from Rayo, Barcelona killed the
game off with two goals in as many minutes just after the half hour
mark as Messi and Neymar took advantage of the hosts' high line to
continued their fine goalscoring form.

Rayo were reduced to nine men after half-time as Jorge Morcillo and
Javier Aquino were shown second yellow cards and Barca saw the game
out to preserve their record of not conceding so far this season in La
Liga.

Barca now lead third-placed Atletico by five points and Real Madrid by
seven, but Real can cut the gap when they face Athletic Bilbao at the
Santiago Bernabeu on Sunday.

Claudio Bravo now holds the record for an unbeaten start to a La Liga
season and Barca's Chilean goalkeeper needed to be at his best early
on to prevent Alberto Bueno firing Rayo into the lead.

However, Rayo's offside trap was being breached regularly and moments
after Messi had a goal ruled out, the Argentine showed great composure
to dink the ball over the advancing Tono to open the scoring.

Barca doubled their advantage a minute later as this time Munir El
Hadaddi fed Neymar and the Brazilian took his time before drilling the
ball into the far corner.

Rayo could have been back in the game early after the restart had it
not been for another fine save from Bravo to deny Leo Baptistao.

However, any hope for Paco Jemez's men was ended when Morcillo was
given his marching orders for an unnecessary lunge from behind on
Neymar.

Messi then missed a number of chances to add to his tally in the final
quarter, leaving him still just two goals shy of Telmo Zarra's
all-time La Liga goals record of 251, before a disappointing afternoon
for Rayo was rounded off when Aquino was also sent-off for a late
challenge on Sergio Busquets.

Atletico, meanwhile, paid for their efforts in beating Italian
champions Juventus in midweek as a Miranda own goal, Andre Gomes's
strike and a Nicolas Otamendi header gave Valencia a dream start at
Mestalla.

Mario Mandzukic reduced the arrears on the half hour mark, but any
hopes of an Atletico comeback were halted when Diego Alves saved
Guillherme Siqueira's tame penalty just before half-time and they
ended the match with 10 men as substitute Alessio Cerci was sent-off
in stoppage time.

"Valencia started very strongly and we made mistakes that we don't
usually make," said Atletico boss Diego Simeone.

"After that Atletico played very well and they didn't have any more
chances. If we had scored the penalty, perhaps it would have been
different."

Valencia coach Nuno Espirito Santo refused to specify what he would
deem as success for his side come the end of the season, but believes
they can get even better with star summer signing Alvaro Negredo set
to return from injury after the upcoming international break.

"Our objective is to keep growing and keep improving as individuals
and as a team.

"Today is a great day for us, but I am very optimistic and I think we
will improve."

Tinubu, David Mark Hold Closed-Door Meeting With Obasanjo

Former Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senate
President David Mark held a separate closed door meeting with
Obasanjo.

The aim of the meeting is to discuss on how the nation will move
forward and how Obasanjo's boys will hold a top place in Nigeria.

According to Punch, The meetings were held at Obasanjo's Hilltop
residence in Abeokuta.

Both Mark and Tinubu said the issues discussed bordered on the state
of the nation.

Tinubu came ahead of Mark. Emerging from the venue of the meeting, he
said he had discussion with Obasanjo on "some of his former boys" who
would vie for elective positions in the 2015 general elections,
especially the Presidency.

He said, "We are here to pay homage to our former President and
discuss with him because he has a number of influences in the
political sphere.

"We need to talk to find out his thinking about Nigeria and the
future. We need to seek his observation on some of his former boys who
are running for Presidency in our party."

He, however, said there was nothing worth celebrating about Nigeria's
54th independence anniversary since the country remained "an invalid
baby in incubator."

Mark who arrived the Hilltop residence at about 2.0pm left around 3.45pm.

He also described Obasanjo as the father of the nation with a wealth
of experience.

The Senate President told journalists after the meeting that he had
come with his team, including Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel
Uduaghan; the Peoples Democratic Party Women Leader, Mrs. Josephine
Anenih; and Senator Polycarp Nwite, among others to discuss with the
former President and raise some basic issues that affect both the
party and the nation.

He said, "We discussed issues that will move Nigeria forward because
Chief Obasanjo's love for Nigeria is unquantifiable. So, we had a good
discussion with him."

Nigerian Military Doubts Man In Boko Haram Video Is Missing Jet's Pilot

Yesterday, a video was released by Boko Haram ,in which they beheaded
a man they said was the pilot of the missing fighter Jet.Thw military
has doubts that the man killed was actually one of the pilots.

Asked directly about whether the man was an air force pilot, as
claimed, spokesman Air Commodore Dele Alonge told AFP:

"The man shown in the Boko Haram video is not our officer. The picture
of a man beheaded in the video is superimposed," he said without
elaborating. "Our plane is still missing and we are looking for it.
Boko Haram is just making unfounded claims.
"

A military source also told the Nation.

"Experts are doing forensic analysis of Boko Haram to ascertain
whether it was a make-believe or there were really encounters between
the pilots and the insurgents.

"The alleged claim of beheading of the pilot was part of the video
clip purportedly released by Boko Haram on Thursday.

"We are in receipt of the 'gory' clip. We are studying every bit of it
in line with military ethics. Do not forget that there might also be
an element of propaganda on the part of the insurgents. The video clip
has a tint of psychological warfare, but the military is undaunted. The
report on the last minutes of the pilots indicated that they had
completed their assignment.

"They had their last successful assignment in seized areas in Adamawa
State. Something was wrong while returning to base. This is what we
are looking at.So, they had a successful outing on that day. This is
why the military had considered the likelihood of the jet being shot
by Boko Haram as 'remote.'These pilots were among the best in the Air
Force; they were always willing to go to the war front even when
others were a bit sceptical of the weather or mode of operation. They
were thorns in the flesh of the insurgents and they accounted for many
successful air strikes we have recorded.

"We have retrieved communication data to know whether the plane got
missing because of mechanical challenge or otherwise.

The Miracle Of Body Magic & Wonder Bra - Etcetera

Those women who wear simple and proper undergarments, this article is
not about you. It is for those women who are confused and concerned
and are leaning toward spending their hard-earned money on a magic
garment that is being peddled as if it can solve all that ail them,
only to be sorely disappointed.

Every eight seconds, a woman looks in the mirror and wants to be
smaller. I have a huge problem with this type of women. Whenever I
meet people who pretend to be what they are not, it gets under my
skin.

When you present yourself as something, you're asking me to trust you
are exactly what you say you are. Why would you then abuse the trust
you asked for with the goal of winning my heart? That is not fair. A
friend of mine introduced me to a very hot chic at a bar in Ikeja and
after hours of hanging out and getting to know each other, she
followed me home.

All I could think about was what she'd look like under all those tight
clothes, but when she finally grunted her way out of those really
tight jeans and her body began to spread in all directions, I suddenly
had a headache and didn't feel so well and I gave her cab fare home.

I mean, is this body magic thing for-real? It is ridiculous. To think
that someone would honestly wear it instead of putting the time and
effort into actually losing the extra pounds should be a personal
embarrassment. It's really gone past pathetic. The extreme to which
our women are going to capture an image of beauty that is neither
holistic, healthy nor attractive is crazy. It seems so strange that
some ladies complain about not being able to find sincere, honest and
real men when everything about them is synthetic, processed and
unreal. Ladies, let me sell you a clue. If you find a man, any man,
who seems to be attracted to women who have certain physical
attributes like fake hair, fake nails, fake round bum-bum, fake flat
stomach, fake eyelashes and fake breasts, odds are he's a fake man. So
if that's what you're looking for (fake men), then that's cool.

Leave the 'real' men to the 'real' women. If my girl had to undress
and all of a sudden picked up 8 to 10 pounds merely by taking off her
corset, the attraction would have ended immediately. Because it is a
fraud and I don't get myself involved with fraudulent people. What
worries me most is, how do you as a lady guard your emotions from the
reaction you will inevitably receive when that look of shock and
disdain appears on the face of your man after he sees those parts
you've been hiding under that body magic? If you find yourselves that
undesirable, why would you expect a man to find you desirable?

Let's look at this thing called body magic and the falsity around it.
It makes you feel you have dropped three dress sizes right? Which
basically means you'll shave off about three inches of fat in ten
minutes, firm up your abs, and boom, you've lost all the extra weight.
Yes girlfriend, a body magic can reshape you.

Wearing a corset can change your bust-line, by raising the breasts
upwards and shaping them, flattening the stomach, and improving
posture. However, these effects are only temporary and will be lost on
removing the corset. Indeed, excessive corset wearing has been claimed
to weaken certain muscles, making it more difficult to maintain your
shape. Another thing a body magic can't do is make a mound of fat
disappear. Using a body magic for this purpose does nothing except
shift mass fat into a place it originally was not supposed to be.

Think about it, if fat was supposed to be buried deeper into your
body, then guess what? God would have put it there. It's stored on the
outermost parts of your frame for a reason. Squeezing into a body
magic and hoping it's going to help permanently hide whatever flaws
your body may have is a joke. And for Christ' sake, the thing is so
uncomfortable and tight, that it makes you unable to breathe or ease
yourself when pressed.

I am really sad that our ladies don't talk about healthy eating or
exercise anymore.

Body magic is a temporary fix at best and deceitful for that matter.

World First As Baby Is Born To Woman With Womb Transplant

Snuggled against the warmth of his mother, he knows nothing of the
extraordinary journey she undertook to
give him life.

But this little boy is the first in the world to be born after a womb
transplant. His 'breathtaking' birth gives hope to thousands of
childless women around the world - including at least 15,000 in
Britain.

One of the doctors involved in the delivery said that it was so
emotional, it was like having her own child. The boy, who is in
perfect health, was born to a 36-year-old Swedish woman.

She was born without a womb - and carried her baby in a womb donated
by a 61-year-old woman. Another six women given new wombs are also
pregnant.

Last night, the Lancet medical journal released details about the
remarkable birth. The little boy, whose arrival has remained secret
until now, was born by Caesarean section a month ago.'The mother and
child are both doing well and have returned home. The new parents are
of course very happy and thankful.'

"I'm Not Interested In N25M Compensation"- Baba Suwe

Popular comic actor Baba Suwe says he doesn't need the N25million
compensation he asked from the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency
for falsely arresting him on drug charges.

Baba Suwe told Punch that he only wants a public apology because of
how much the arrest affect both his personal and work life

"The NDLEA has wronged me and it is meant to find a way to make me
happy. It is a slap on my face. I am not agitating for the money; I
don't need it to survive in life. All I want is an apology. If the
government can tender an apology to me and publish it in newspapers, I
will have peace of mind and be happy," he said.

He also denied recent reports that he's getting re-married soon.

"It is not true that I am about to get married. Don't mind those
saying it, they are saying rubbish. There is no atom of truth in it.
If I would get married, it would not be a secret; everybody would hear
about it. I also have it in mind to marry a woman that would love me
as well as my children and give me peace of mind," Baba Suwe said.

Daniel Sturridge Signs New Long Term Contract With Liverpool

The Liverpool forward has signed a new contract with the club.
Sturridge who joined the club in January 2013, after struggling to
make an impact in Chelsea FC.

Sturridge expressed appreciation to the management of the club for the
opportunity given to him, and explained it was one of the motivations
that helped him sign a new contract.

"It feels great. It's a big, big day in my life to
commit to this club and to give the club my best years, which are
ahead of me," he told
the club's official website.

"I am thankful for the opportunity and that is the reason I committed
my future. Everyone
has been great with me, from the fans to the staff to the players, so
it was an easy decision. I'm happy with how everything is
going."

Liverpool Open Sturridge Talks

Liverpool are in talks with Daniel Sturridge over a new contract but a
deal is yet to be agreed, says manager Brendan Rodgers.

The 25-year-old moved to Anfield in January 2013 in a reported
£12million deal from Premier League rivals Chelsea and has become a
fans' favourite with the Merseysiders.

Sturridge has scored 37 goals in just 52 appearances since moving to
Liverpool and is set for a key role as they look to build on last
season's second-placed league finish.

"There are talks ongoing with Daniel Sturridge's representatives,"
Rodgers said. "[But] there's no more news other than that."

Sturridge has not featured for Liverpool since injuring his thigh
while on England duty in the previous international window last month.

Rodgers was critical of England's handing of Sturridge and made it
known that he felt he should not be included in Roy Hodgson's latest
squad for the Euro 2016 qualifying double header with San Marino and
Estonia.

Subsequently, Sturridge was left out of the 21-man party and Rodgers
insists there is no lingering issue between himself and Hodgson over
the conflict of interest.

"I get on with Roy and spoke with him," he added. "The communication
has been good. We agreed it was probably too soon for Daniel Sturridge
to meet up with England.

"There is no issue with England. I don't think the same thing will
happen again. My focus is on getting Sturridge fit for Liverpool. He
has been out for nearly four weeks with a grade one strain."

Akpabio, as her wedding gift, 'being a daughter of the state'.

It is noteworthy that the gift was trailed by criticisms and encomiums

the Idibias are quietly enjoying their machine, which is valued at
about N10m.

make sure passengers are refreshed and relaxed, wherever the
destination.

The Prado features a 7-seat layout (optional on the 5-seater GX
model), which offers a wide variety of flexible configurations. The
stylish seats were designed with luxurious comfort in mind and even
the tallest people will be surprised by how much legroom there is.

The good:The up-high position of the Prado and the sunroof makes the
long drives easier as it allows for better field of vision even for
children. It has plenty headroom and good off-road capability. Auto
reviewers adjudged its fuel economy to be good.

The bad:Auto reviewers complained about its steering, describing it as
vague. There is a reasonable amount of body roll around corners not
forgetting that its diesel engine tends to make noise.

Tiote's Wife Collapses After Footballer Marries Second Wife

(Photo: Tiote with his new bride)

Cheick Tiote's wife, Madah, 25, reported fainted last month when she
learnt the Newcastle midfielder had married a second wife in Ivory
Coast.

Tiote, 28, who earns £45,000 a week at Newcastle United, reportedly
wed Laeticia Doukrou in a traditional ceremony in September, saying
taking another wife was 'nothing unusual' given he is a Muslim.

But news of the second wedding came as a surprise to his first wife,
Madah, who is said to have only found out about it on Facebook. Madah,
who lives with Tiote and their two children in a £1.5m house in a
village outside Newcastle, reportedly fainted with shock when she saw
the photographs of her husband marrying another woman.

Meanwhile the midfielder also has a one-year-old child with mistress,
33-year-old Zimbabwean Nkosiphile Mpofu, known as Nikki.

His agent Jean Musampa confirmed the reports, saying, "I can say that
he did get married and that it is his second marriage. This is nothing
unusual. He is a Muslim."

The first Mrs Tiote is now said to have forgiven her husband, but his
33-year-old Zimbabwean mistress, Ms Mpofu, is believed to have
recently ended her three-year affair with the footballer after he
allegedly promised to make her his wife.

Boko Haram Beheads Pilot Of 'Missing' Airforce Jet

A new Boko Haram video shows the beheading of a man identified as the
pilot of a missing Nigerian Air Force jet and burnt out parts of a
plane -- the first indication that the Islamic extremist group has the
capability to bring down aircraft.

It also allegedly features Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau, a man
the military has claimed to have killed last year. Two weeks ago, the
military said they had killed in battle a Shekau lookalike who had
posed in the group's videos.

"Here I am, alive and I will remain alive until the day Allah takes
away my breath," the man says in the Hausa language. "Even if you kill
me ... it will not stop us imposing Islamic rule ... We are still in our
Islamic state, reigning and teaching the Koran."

The United States still has a $7m ransom on Shekau's head, despite the
death claims.

The video was made available toThe Associated Pressthrough the same
channels used previously and seems to show the same man claiming to be
Shekau.

In the latest video, he says they are prosecuting in accordance with
Shariah law in areas under their control. Examples of punishments are
shown, including the stoning to death of a man apparently accused of
adultery; the amputation of the hand of a young man accused of theft;
the lashings of a man and what appears to be a girl covered in the
hijab.

The video ends with a show of burnt out plane parts in rugged bush.

Two pilots and an Alpha jet have been missing since September 11 when
it left Yola, Adamawa State, on a bombing mission against Boko Haram.

The video shows a kneeling man in a camouflage vest with his right
hand in a sling, with a fighter hovering over him with an axe, which
is later used in the beheading.

Speaking in English, the victim identifies himself as a Wing Commander
in the Nigerian Air Force and says he was undertaking a mission in
Kauri area of Borno State on September 11.

"We were shot down and our aircraft crashed," he says, appearing to
keep his composure throughout the ordeal. "To this day, I don't know
the whereabouts of my second pilot."

Shekau claims in the video to have brought down 10 military aircraft.

The Defense Headquarters has denied speculation that Boko Haram
brought down a helicopter gunship that crashed in August. The pilot
died, two crew members survived.

Facebook Admits Failings Over Emotion Manipulation Study

Facebook said it will change the way it does research, but stopped
short of apologising for a controversial experiment it conducted this
year.

In June, the site was criticised for manipulating the news feeds of
nearly 700,000 users without their consent.

The network said it was "unprepared" for the backlash it received.

"[We] have taken to heart the comments and criticism. It is clear now
that there are things we should have done differently," Facebook said.

In a blog, chief technology officer Mike Schroepfer said the company
should have "considered other non-experimental ways to do this
research".

He added: "In releasing the study, we failed to communicate clearly
why and how we did it."

The social network controlled the news feed of users over a one-week
period in 2012 without their knowledge to manage which emotional
expressions they were exposed to.

The experiment was part of a study by Facebook and two US
universities. The social network said at the time it was to gauge
whether "exposure to emotions led people to change their own posting
behaviours".

However, the company was widely criticised for manipulating material
from people's personal lives in order to play with user emotions or
make them sad.

In response on Thursday, Facebook said that it was introducing new
rules for conducting research on users with clearer guidelines, better
training for researchers and a stricter review process.

But, it did not state whether or not it would notify users - or seek
their consent - before starting a study.

The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) in London, which supports
data privacy for individuals, said Facebook's comments were "a step in
the right direction", but it hoped to hear more about how the social
network intends to improve transparency.

"Organisations who want to process people's personal information
without explicitly asking for their permission, for instance to carry
out research, always need to proceed with caution," an ICO spokesman
said.

IDC research analyst Jan van Vonno said it was Facebook's
responsibility to notify users of any studies they were partaking in.

"They're going to continue that research and what they should do is
make users aware of what they're doing and that's not really what
they're doing right now," Mr van Vonno said.

An apology would be a sign of regret and they obviously don't regret
any of their actions because they think it's for the benefit of their
own platform."

It was still important for Facebook to study consumer behaviour so it
could maximize the impact advertisers had on the platform, which
remains a huge source of revenue for the company, Mr van Vonno added.

The company's mobile advertising revenue jumped 151% in the second
quarter of this year from 2013 and accounted for more than 60% of its
overall ad revenue.

Just this week, Facebook relaunched Atlas, an advertising platform it
bought from Microsoft last year, to improve the effectiveness of its
ads.

Sen Obi's Sister Dies Of Cancer

PRESIDENT Goodluck Jonathan yesterday commiserated with his special
adviser on inter- party affairs, Senator Ben Obi whose sister,
Professor Josephine Anagbogu, died of colon cancer. She was buried
yesterday.

Prof Anagbogu, 56, died in the United States of America after many
years of battle against cancer.

In the condolence message read on his behalf by the governor of
Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano, the president urged the family to
bear the loss with fortitude.

Obiano said the loss of a sister was very hurting, particularly for
one who was so young and encouraged Senator Obi to align himself with
God's permissive will in moments of this nature.

Immediate past governor of the state, Mr. Peter Obi said the family
would certainly miss Prof Anabgogu, adding however that nobody can
question God whose will remains supreme at all times.

Liberia Places Restrictions On Ebola Coverage

Liberia's government has said that journalists will now need official
permission to cover the Ebola outbreak under new rules aimed at
protecting patient privacy.

The move was announced on Thursday, the same day an American cameraman
working for NBC News in Liberia became the first foreign journalist to
test positive for Ebola. There was no indication that the new rules
were related to that case.

Growing international media interest in the outbreak, which has killed
nearly 2,000 people and infected 3,696 in Liberia, has highlighted the
challenges to the West African country's health-care system.

Journalists could be arrested and prosecuted if they fail to get
written permission from the health ministry before contacting Ebola
patients, conducting interviews or filming or photographing
health-care facilities, officials said.

"We have noted with great concern that photographs have been taken in
treatment centres while patients are going in to be attended by
doctors. That is invasion of the dignity, privacy and respect of
patients," Tolbert Nyenswah, assistant minister of health and head of
Liberia's Ebola Incident Management, said.

"Ebola patients are no different from any other patients. We should do
that (report) under permission so that we don't just take pictures or
send out stories of naked people (in a way) that does not respect
their privacy," he said.

Patient With Ebola Symptoms Enters Washington Hospital

A patient with symptoms that could be associated with the deadly Ebola
virus and a recent travel history to Nigeria was admitted Friday to a
Washington-area hospital, a spokeswoman told AFP.

"We can confirm that a patient has been admitted to Howard University
Hospital in stable condition, following travel to Nigeria and
presenting with symptoms that could be associated with Ebola," said
Howard University spokeswoman Kerry-Ann Hamilton.

"In an abundance of caution, we have activated the appropriate
infection control protocols, including isolating the patient."

No further details were released about the patient.

Symptoms of Ebola can include fever, aches and pains, vomiting and diarrhea.

The virus is spread through close contact with the bodily fluids of an
infected person.

The first diagnosed case of Ebola in the United States was announced
on Tuesday, after a man from Liberia who had traveled to Texas fell
ill days after he arrived.

Nigeria is one of five West African nations that have battled Ebola
this year, but has had fewer than two dozen cases and as many as eight
deaths linked to the arrival of a sick airline passenger from Liberia,
far less than the thousands of infections in neighboring countries.

Nigeria's president declared the nation Ebola-free at a UN meeting
late last month.

US and global health authorities have said Nigeria was near to being
able to announce an end to the outbreak there, which can only be
established once 42 days have passed since the last infection.

More than 3,300 people have died across Sierra Leone, Liberia, Guinea,
Nigeria and Senegal already this year, in the world's largest outbreak
of Ebola in history.

IS Claims Murder Of British Hostage In Latest Video

The Islamic State jihadist group on Friday claimed responsibility for
the murder of British aid worker Alan Henning in a video showing his
apparent execution.

In the video, almost identical to those released after three previous
murders, a masked IS militant also displays a hostage he identifies as
an American, Peter Kassig.

The video, found online by the SITE private terrorism monitor, opens
with a news report about the British parliament's vote last week to
authorize air strikes against jihadist targets in Iraq.

Then it cuts to Henning, on his knees against a desert backdrop and
wearing an orange prison-style outfit, with a masked militant standing
over him wielding a combat knife.

Henning explains to camera that as a member of the British public, he
is being made to pay the price for the parliamentary vote.

Then the jihadist, who has the same British accent as the killer in a
previous IS video of the death of British hostage David Haines,
addresses Britain's Prime Minister David Cameron.

"The blood of David Haines was on your hands, Cameron. Alan Henning
will also be slaughtered, but his blood is on the hands of the British
parliament," he declares, then cuts the hostage's throat.

After the beheading the video cuts to a similar scene in which the
killer introduces a man as Kassig, reportedly a 24-year-old US aid
worker who had gone missing in Syria.

"Obama, you have started your aerial bombardment in Sham, which keeps
on striking our people," the militant says, using the Arabic term for
Syria and the Levant.

"So it is only right that we continue to strike the necks of your people."

The video ends with the second hostage apparently unharmed.

Previous IS victims have been threatened in this way before appearing
around two weeks later in videos of their murders.

Full Text: President Jonathan's Eid-El-Kabir Message To The Nation

EID-EL-KABIR MESSAGE TO THE NATION FROM GOODLUCK EBELE JONATHAN, GCFR,
PRESIDENT, FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA, OCTOBER, 2014

Dear Compatriots,

I greet and felicitate with all our countrymen and women of the
Islamic faith as we celebrate this year's Eid-El-Kabir.

I also congratulate all believers who have successfully undertaken the
Hajj this year as enjoined by Prophet Mohammed (May Peace Be Upon
Him).

As they conclude the rites of the Hajj and prepare to return home, let
us all join them in offering special prayers for greater security,
peace, unity and progress in our dear country as well as for the
peaceful and successful conduct of next year's general elections.

With this week's issuance of a formal notice of the impending general
elections by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC),
another national campaign season is now truly upon us and I urge all
political leaders in the country to place the overriding interest of
the well-being and progress of our fatherland above all other
considerations in the coming campaigns and elections.

My administration has done its sincere best in the past four years to
implement its agenda for national transformation and move our country
forward on several fronts.

I thank the many individuals, stakeholders, groups, associations,
non-governmental organisations, unions and political leaders from
across the country who have, in recognition and appreciation of our
efforts and commitment to repositioning our dear nation for more rapid
growth and development, urged me to seek a second term in office.

In deciding on an appropriate response to such calls, I will place the
greater interests of national harmony, cohesion, unity, security,
political stability, progress, equity, justice and fairness above any
personal ambition or sectional agenda.

I urge all other political leaders in the country to do the same. Let
us all rise above unedifying, unpatriotic and selfish personal
interests and divisive sectional agenda in the coming national
elections.

Let us also commit ourselves more to the sustenance of democracy and
political stability which are essential prerequisites for the
advancement of good governance, inclusive economic growth and rapid
development.

In spite of the significant progress we have made in the past four
years, our dear nation continues to face critical challenges in some
areas. I am convinced however that if we persevere and continue to
build diligently on what the present administration has achieved, we
will surely overcome all hindrances and fully establish a stronger,
more united and prosperous nation that meets the aspirations and
yearnings of all of our people.

As we celebrate the Eid-El-Kabir, let us also rededicate and commit
ourselves to the Holy Prophet's injunctions of piety, honesty, charity
and generosity to the less privileged, impartial leadership and true
justice for all.

These virtues and lessons will surely stand our nation in good stead
as we continue our journey towards the fulfillment of our founding
fathers' vision of a great nation.

May Allah's blessings be upon all our compatriots who have undertaken
the Hajj this year and on our dear country.

I wish all Nigerians currently in the Holy Land a safe journey back home.

Happy Eid-El-Kabir to you all.

Google Deletes 'Tens Of Thousands' Of Celeb Nude Pics

Google has removed "tens of thousands" of nude pictures stolen from
celebrities and published online.

A statement from the web giant said it has deleted photos "within
hours" of requests being made and has "closed hundreds of accounts."

It comes after reports Hollywood entertainment lawyer Marty Singer has
threatened to sue Google for "violating privacy".

TheNew York Post published a letter addressed to senior staff at Google.

The letter states that Google failed "to act expeditiously, and
responsibly to remove the images" and "was perpetuating the despicable
conduct of these habitual pervert predators".

Cara Delevingne and Jennifer Lawrence were among the group of stars
targeted by cyber thieves who posted their stolen pictures on sites
including 4Chan.

Although the women involved in the potential lawsuit have not been
named, the legal papers stated, "We are litigation counsel for over a
dozen celebrities."

In his letter, Marty Singer said, the female stars would seek damages
for Google's "blatantly unethical behaviour" and "knowingly
accommodating, facilitating, and perpetuating the unlawful conduct" of
the hackers.

The high profile lawyer added, "Google knows the images are hacked
stolen property, private and confidential photos and videos unlawfully
obtained and posted by pervert predators who are violating the
victims' privacy rights".

In response, Google said, "Our turnaround is generally hours, not weeks.

"Of course people continue to post these images on the web, so - like
other online services - we rely on people notifying us to help us take
them down, whether by flagging content, or filing DMCA (Digital
Millennium Copyright Act) requests."

Other celebs to be targeted by cyber thieves are Kate Upton, Rihanna,
Kim Kardashian and horror star Mary Elizabeth Winstead.

Pitch Perfect actress Anna Kendrick has also reportedly had photos of
herself fully-clothed published on Reddit and 4Chan.

According to Mr Singer's legal document, some of the photos have also
turned up on YouTube and Blogspot, owned by Google.

Google said, "We're removing these photos for community guidelines and
policy violations (eg nudity and privacy violation) on YouTube,
Blogger and Google .

"For search we have historically taken a different approach as we
reflect what's online - but we remove these images when we receive
valid copyright (DMCA) notices."

Death Watch! Check Out The Watch That Can Calculate How Long You Have Left To Live

If you're worried about what your lifestyle may be doing to your
health, then a new - albeit very morbid gadget - gadget claims to
help.

A Swedish inventor has designed a watch that apparently calculates a
person's life expectancy - and even counts down to the time they will
die.

Dubbed the 'death watch', Tikker was created by Fredrik Colting.

HOW DOES WATCH PREDICT DEATH?

To set up Tikker, the wearer fills out a questionnaire by entering
information about their medical history, including allergies or
illnesses. They are also asked whether they drink or smoke and if
there are any instances of cancer, diabetes and other diseases in
their family.

Wearers are additionally asked about how much exercise they do, as
well as how much they weigh before receiving a score. Their age is
deducted from the results to predict a death date and the Tikker
begins the countdown.

Woman Forced To Resign For Saying "God Bless You"

This is a very serious case. A female Toll-taker is suing her boss
after resigning from her job because, she was told not to say 'God
Bless You" to motorists. Cynthia Fernandez said her First Amendment
rights were violated .
She told CBS 2
'As they leave, I said, 'Have a good day, God bless you,'He told me he
wanted to talk to
me, that I couldn't say, 'God bless you,' anymore to customers because
somebody might get offended,It does say, 'Provide
customer service, smile' - it does say all that,'But it does not say
in any line, 'Do not say, 'God bless you.

Her lawyer, Greg Noble, said,
By saying 'God bless you,' she's expressing herself as a Christian,And
if an employer is
going to restrain her ability to express herself in that way, not say
something based on her religious belief, not disrupting the workplace,
that's our concern.'
She is seeking back pay with benefits and a
cash settlement from the authority .She said that she feels like she's
taking a stand for God.

3,338 Deaths, 7,178 Cases Of Ebola Recorded In West Africa

The United Nations on Thursday said the number of cases of the Ebola
Virus Disease in West Africa had risen to 7,178.

Spokesperson of UN Secretary-General, Stephane Dujarric, who gave the
update while briefing reporters in New York, said latest statistics
from World Health Organisation (WHO) indicated that the disease had
claimed 3,338 lives in the sub-region.

Dujarric said that the upward trend of the epidemic had continued in
Sierra Leone and "most probably" in Liberia.

He said that the situation in Guinea appeared to be more stable, but
emphasised that "in the context of an Ebola outbreak, a stable pattern
of transmission is still of a very grave concern, and could change
quickly".

"In Liberia, the Head of the UN Mission for Ebola Emergency Response
(UNMEER), Anthony Banbury, spoke at a news conference to present the
Mission's priorities.

"He also visited Lofa's county treatment centre and met with senior
government officials, civil societies, NGOs, the UN Country team and
the peacekeeping mission to gather their needs," he said.

On funding, Dujarric said: "we would like to welcome Australia's
announcement of an additional contribution of 10 million dollars to
the international response fund.

"The Special Envoy on Ebola, Dr David Nabarro, said it was exactly the
kind of quick and effective response the UN is asking of Member
States, given the complexity and scale of the crisis.

"This will bring Australia's total contribution to the Ebola response
to 18 million dollars, in addition to the more than 40 million dollars
provided to the WHO over the past year to support global health
services activities.

"We would like to encourage other countries to also intensify their
support to the international response," he said.

He added that "in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Humanitarian
Coordinator, Moustapha Soumaré, has allocated 2.5 million dollars to
fight the Ebola outbreak in Equateur province.

He said that 1.8 million dollars would go to the World Food Programme
(WFP) to buy food and also to run the Humanitarian Air Services
(UNHAS), while UNICEF would receive funding for health, water,
hygiene, and sanitation projects.

The spokesperson said that as at Wednesday, 43 people had died out of
70 Ebola cases in Boende district, about 600 kilometres North of
Kinshasa, the capital.

He said that the UN believed that air travel to and from the West
African countries affected by the Ebola virus should continue in spite
of the first reported case of Ebola in the US.

According to him, it is very important not to isolate these countries
as it would worsen their political and economic situations.

He said aid groups need access to the Congolese region and emphasised
the importance of screening of travelers at departure and arrival
points.

Watch Video Of Boko Haram Leader "Abubakar Shekau" Saying "I Am Alive"

Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau yesterday dismissed Nigerian
military claims of his death in a new video obtained by AFP on
Thursday and said the militants had implemented strict Islamic law in
captured towns.

The new 36-minute video showed Shekau, in combat fatigues and black
rubber boots, standing on the back of a pick-up truck and firing an
anti-aircraft gun into the air.

Standing in front of three camouflaged vans and flanked by four
heavily armed, masked fighters, he then speaks for 16 minutes in
Arabic and the Hausa language widely spoken in northern Nigeria.

There was no indication of where or when the video was shot.

"Here I am, alive. I will only die the day Allah takes my breath,"
Shekau said in the new video, adding that his group was "running our...
Islamic caliphate" and administering sharia punishments.

"Nothing will kill me until my days are over... I'm still alive. Some
people asked you if Shekau has two souls.

No, I have one soul, by Allah," he said, apparently reading from a script.

"It is propaganda that is prevalent. I have one soul. I'm an Islamic student.

"I'm the Islamic student whose seminary you burnt... I'm not dead," he added

Nigeria's military however maintained the claim that Shekau was dead
and that a man who had been posing as the group's leader in the videos
had been shot dead after fighting with troops in the far northeast.

Joan Rivers' Daughter Suing Doctor Over Death

Melissa Rivers, 46, is taking legal action against throat specialist
Dr Gwen Korovin, who was allegedly unauthorised to practise at the
Yorkville Endoscopy Clinic in Manhattan where Joan passed away after a
routine endoscopy caused her to go into cardiac arrest last month.

Although the medical centre's director Dr Lawrence Cohen stepped down
following the death of the star aged 88, it is believed Dr Korovin has
continued working and accepting new patients at the practice.

A close friend of the Rivers family told MailOnline: "Melissa does
plan to sue the clinic. It's very difficult to discuss something so
unpleasant with her, but she is going to launch a lawsuit."

According to CNN, clinic workers claim both Dr Cohen and Dr Korovin
were treating the late star in the hours leading up to her death with
Dr Korovin performing an initial laryngoscopy followed by an endoscopy
to help determine the cause of a sore throat and hoarseness she was
suffering from.

Dr Cohen then ordered Dr Korovin to perform a second endoscopy and
laryngoscopy - during which Joan's vocal chords are said to have
swollen, cutting off the oxygen supply to her lungs and leading to the
cardiac arrest that killed her.

Rivers claims Dr Korovin was unauthorised to practise the procedure
and was only meant to observe Dr Cohen as she was not certified to
practise by the clinic and therefore outside of the regulations of New
York health law. However, the upper east side clinic is denying
reports that the vocal chord biopsy was performed.

Benefits Of Eating Egg

Eggs are an excellent source of low-cost, high quality protein, fats
and vitamins. Every day, we consume them directly by eating whole eggs
or indirectly when we eat confectionaries such as biscuits, cakes,
bread, pies, and so on. The health benefits of eating egg outweigh the
negative criticisms of its cholesterol content.

Protein content

Eggs are a rich source of protein -- an important building block of
bones, muscles, cartilage, skin and blood. The body also uses protein
to build and repair tissues, as well as producing enzymes, hormones
and other chemicals in the body. The protein from an egg provides all
the essential amino acids needed by the body to maintain issues and
support brain function. According to the Incredible Egg Organisation,
a large whole egg contains about 6.3 grams of protein -- 3.6 grams from
the egg white and 2.7 grams from the egg yolk.

Cholesterol

Many people avoid eating eggs totally because they believe that eggs
contain a lot of cholesterol. However, studies have revealed that an
individual can eat a whole egg everyday without significantly
increasing cholesterol and other blood fat levels. This is because a
large egg contains about 185-200mg of cholesterol. This is about 62
per cent of your daily maximum cholesterol intake levels. It is also
interesting to note that all of the cholesterol in an egg is found in
the egg yolk.

Other nutrients

Eggs contain an array of nutrients. Examples of these nutrients and
their functions include choline, which assists in brain development,
function and memory. Iron carries oxygen to the cells and keeps blood
healthy. Niacin promotes normal nerve functions and helps in
conversion of the food we eat into energy. It also helps protect the
body against cardiovascular diseases. Lecithin are key building blocks
of cell membranes and they protect cells from oxidation. Niacin is
also a component of the protective sheath that covers the brain.

Omega-3 fats improve blood cholesterol and reduces the risk of
Alzeheimer's disease. Vitamin B2, also known as Riboflavin, helps keep
the body tissues healthy. Vitamin A promotes good vision and maintains
healthy skin and mucous membranes. Vitamin B12 helps protect against
heart disease. Vitamin D helps the body to absorb dietary calcium,
which keeps bones and teeth strong. Vitamin E acts as an antioxidant
that protects cells. Zinc helps maintain a strong immune system.

Eating egg when pregnant

During pregnancy, the cells of the developing baby are growing at an
exponential rate, and every cell is made of proteins. Egg contains
lots of quality protein and amino acid that help the baby's tissue to
grow and develop properly.

Egg for cancer

Choline has also been found to reduce the risks of breast cancers. A
study published in 2003 by researchers at Harvard University revealed
that women who ate an egg a day had 18 per cent reduced risk of breast
cancer. Another study of Chinese women, published in Cancer
Epidemiology, Biomarkers and Prevention in 2005, showed that women who
consumed at least six eggs per week had a 44 percent reduced risk of
developing breast cancer. In April 2008, researchers from the
University of North Carolina also found that choline can reduce the
risk of breast cancer by 24 percent.

Don't eat raw eggs

Raw eggs should not be consumed because it contains an enzyme called
avidin, which binds to and prevents the body's absorption of vitamin
H, also known as Biotin-a vitamin that helps to convert the food we
eat into energy. Body builders and athletes that consume raw eggs
should be careful of not running into a biotin shortage.

How many eggs should you eat in a day? As with most foods, eggs should
be eaten in moderation. However, if you have high blood cholesterol,
diabetes, or heart disease, it is advisable that you consume only the
egg white because it is cholesterol-free. All the cholesterol in an
egg is found in the egg yolk.

In conclusion, an egg is like a large multivitamin and the store house
of vital nutrients. They are an integral part of a healthy diet. Smart
consumption is a far healthier option to cutting them out completely.

This article is for informational purposes and should not replace the
advice of your physician. If your doctor has not recommended eggs as a
part of your diet, do not go against your doctor's advice.

Synagogue Building Collapse: Coroner's Inquest To Commence Sitting On Oct.13

The coroner's inquest into the recent collapse of a building within
the premises of the Synagogue Church of All Nations at Ikotun Egbe, a
Lagos suburb, would commence sitting on Oct.13.

This is contained in a press statement signed by Mrs Bola Akingbade,
spokesperson of the Lagos State Ministry of Justice, and made
available to journalists on Friday in Ikeja.

The statement said the inquest would take place at the premises of the
Ikeja High Court and would be presided over by Magistrate Oyetade
Komolafe.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that 86 persons were
reportedly killed and 131 others rescued after the multi-storey
building collapsed on Sept.12.

The inquest was instituted under the Lagos State Coroner's System Law
No. 7 of 2007 for the purpose of establishing the cause and manner of
the collapsed building incident.

The statement said those expected to give evidence at the inquest
would include Prophet Temitope Joshua- founder of The Synagogue
Church of All Nations, and the contractors handling the church
building.

Others are members of the families of the victims of the incident,
some media houses including NAN, Channels TV, Television Continental,
Vanguard newspaper , Daily Independent, The Nation and Punch
Newspapers.

The statement also stated that some ministries, departments and
parastatal agencies (MDAs) of Lagos State, the state police command,
security agencies and the Nigerian Red Cross, would testify.

The statement said an eye witness, Lindiw Ndwande and Mr Rebone Tau,
Chairman of the Youth League's International Relations Committee of
South Africa, would also give evidence.

It urged the expected organisations, bodies and persons to contact the
coroner's registrar immediately to schedule their appearances.

The statement also urged those who wish to give evidence or tender
any material that would assist the coroner in its findings to contact
its registrar.

Lionel Messi To Face Tax Evasion Trial

Barcelona and Argentina star Lionel Messi is to face trial for alleged
tax evasion, a Spanish judge has ruled.

The judge rejected a prosecution recommendation to drop the charges on
the grounds the player's father was responsible for his finances.

Messi and his father Jorge are accused of defrauding the authorities
of more than 4m euros (£3.1m; $5m).

The pair, who deny wrongdoing, have five days to appeal against the ruling.

It is alleged that they withheld the money between 2007 and 2009.

The income related to Messi's image rights, including contracts with
Banco Sabadell, Danone, Adidas, Pepsi-Cola, Proctor and Gamble, and
the Kuwait Food Company.

The footballer and his father are suspected of avoiding paying Spanish
tax by using companies in Belize and Uruguay to sell the rights to use
Messi's image.

The judge ruled: "In this type of crime, it is not necessary for
someone to have complete knowledge of all the accounting and business
operations nor the exact quantity, rather it is sufficient to be aware
of the designs to commit fraud and consent to them."

In August 2013 Messi and his father made a 5m euro "corrective
payment", equal to the alleged unpaid tax plus interest.

Messi has been four times Fifa World Player of the Year and is captain
of Argentina.

The court decision comes as Barcelona grapples with a separate
prominent legal case.

A Madrid court is hearing a lawsuit that accuses Barcelona of
misappropriating funds from the transfer fee to buy Brazil striker
Neymar from Santos in 2013.

Club president Sandro Rosell quit in January, but insisted he had
"acted correctly" over the transfer.

New Drug-Delivery Capsule May Replace Injections

Given a choice, most patients would prefer to take a drug orally
instead of getting an injection. Unfortunately, many drugs, especially
those made from large proteins, cannot be given as a pill because they
get broken down in the stomach before they can be absorbed.

To help overcome that obstacle, researchers at MIT and Massachusetts
General Hospital (MGH) have devised a novel drug capsule coated with
tiny needles that can inject drugs directly into the lining of the
stomach after the capsule is swallowed. In animal studies, the team
found that the capsule delivered insulin more efficiently than
injection under the skin, and there were no harmful side effects as
the capsule passed through the digestive system.

"This could be a way that the patient can circumvent the need to have
an infusion or subcutaneous administration of a drug," says Giovanni

Sciences.

Although the researchers tested their capsule with insulin, they
anticipate that it would be most useful for delivering
biopharmaceuticals such as antibodies, which are used to treat cancer
and autoimmune disorders like arthritis and Crohn's disease. This
class of drugs, known as "biologics," also includes vaccines,
recombinant DNA, and RNA.

"The large size of these biologic drugs makes them nonabsorbable. And
before they even would be absorbed, they're degraded in your GI tract
by acids and enzymes that just eat up the molecules and make them
inactive," says Carl Schoellhammer, a graduate student in chemical
engineering and a lead author of the paper.

Safe and effective delivery

Scientists have tried designing microparticles and nanoparticles that
can deliver biologics, but such particles are expensive to produce and
require a new version to be engineered for each drug.

Schoellhammer, Traverso, and their colleagues set out to design a
capsule that would serve as a platform for the delivery of a wide
range of therapeutics, prevent degradation of the drugs, and inject
the payload directly into the lining of the GI tract. Their prototype
acrylic capsule, 2 centimeters long and 1 centimeter in diameter,
includes a reservoir for the drug and is coated with hollow, stainless
steel needles about 5 millimeters long.

Previous studies of accidental ingestion of sharp objects in human
patients have suggested that it could be safe to swallow a capsule
coated with short needles. Because there are no pain receptors in the
GI tract, patients would not feel any pain from the drug injection.

To test whether this type of capsule could allow safe and effective
drug delivery, the researchers tested it in pigs, with insulin as the
drug payload. It took more than a week for the capsules to move
through the entire digestive tract, and the researchers found no
traces of tissue damage, supporting the potential safety of this novel
approach.
