S/East Governors Kick Against Relocation Of Boko Haram Prisoners

South East Governors under the umbrella of South East Governors Forum
has appealed to the Federal Government to make a rethink in their
recent plan of relocating Boko Haram prisoners to prisons in the
region.

Speaking on behalf of the governors after the South East Governors'
Forum meeting held at the Government House in Owerri, the Imo State
capital, south east Nigeria, the Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha,
said all the 5 south east governors have resolved to put behind their
party differences and work together for the interest of the Igbo
nation.

The south east governors further reiterated their commitment to fight
crime especially kidnapping, cultism and armed robbery, which has been
on the increase after the general elections.

Other matters discussed by the governors include the economic welfare
of the Igbos, the welfare of displaced Igbo indigenes affected by Boko
Haram insurgency and the position of the South East as regards Federal
Government appointments.

Present at the meeting were governors of Imo, Abia, Enugu and the
Deputy Governor of Ebonyi State, while the governor of Anambra State,
Mr Willie Obiano was absent.
