Enyimba International, who are currently top on the Nigeria Premier
League table, will on Sunday host bottom side, FC Taraba, as the Week
25 matches of the NPFL takes place across the country.
The venue of the clash is the Aba International Stadium where the
Peoples Elephant have so far been formidable this season.
Enyimba FC will be hoping to maintain their lead on the log by
securing another home win over a relegation bound side.
In their last outing at home, Enyimba piped Kano Pillars 1-0 to open a
two-point gap at the summit of the NPFL log.
In other Sunday fixtures, a grudge match is in the offing as Kwara
United host fierce rivals, Shooting Stars, at the Ilorin Township
Stadium.
The Harmony Boys, as the Kwara team are now referred to, have been
struggling in the second half of the league with no victories so far
in all their outings. The team lost by a lone goal away to Heartland
last Sunday and suffered a similar defeat in Ilorin against Wikki
Tourists on Wednesday.
On
Match Day 22, the Harmony Boys were again beaten 2-0 by El-Kanemi
Warriors. Their last victory was the 2-1 victory over Dolphins FC on
Match Day 21 in Ilorin.
Elsewhere in Makurdi, 2015 Federation cup finalists, Lobi Stars, will
entertain FC IfeanyiUbah at the Aper Aku Stadium.
Coach Dan Amokachi is expected to fashion out another strategy that
would help the visitors build on the away victory they secured last
time away to Enugu Rangers.
At the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Rangers International will welcome Dolphins
FC, while Abia Warriors trade tackle with Heartland FC.
In Akure, Sunshine Stars know they need a convincing win to stay in
touching distance with Enyimba. The Akure Gunners are up against
El-Kanemi Warriors.
