as Governor Rochas Okorocha announced immediate embargo on promotions.
Okorocha, who made the announcement, weekend, in Owerri, while
addressing labour leaders, also decreed that there was no going back
on his administration's plan to concession nearly 30 government
parastatals.
Apart from the lingering unpaid salaries and allowances owed workers,
the current position of the state government, according to Vanguard
checks, has started fueling palpable anger and apprehension among the
famished workforce.
Owing to "the dwindling resources of the state," Okorocha insisted
that the identified parastatals, which includes the health
sector, "must be handed over to private investors to make them
viable."
