Local Farmers In Adamawa Claim To Have Sighted Missing Military Aircraft

Some local farmers in Gombi Local Government Area of Adamawa state
have claimed sighting a low-flying aircraft which may have crashed
near Gabun, a village within their local government. The villagers
claimed that they saw an aircraft that matches the description of the
missing military aircraft.

Corroborating their story, some residents of Hawul, a border town with
Borno State, affirmed they saw a military-type aircraft with green and
red stripes flying very low over the mountains adding that the plane's
doors were clearly visible.

One of the local farmers who gave his name as Musa Nuaira said: "This
is the first time I am seeing a jet flying so low over our mountains.
I was even able to see the doors of the plane clearly.

"I'm not the only resident who saw the plane; several others said they
saw it. Some people even came out of their houses to see what was
causing the tremendous noise too before it disappeared from sight."

However, a DHQ source who was asked to comment on the sighting of a
low-flying fighter jet, explained that the farmers might have seen
another NAF aircraft searching for the missing jet.

He disclosed that NAF pilots had flown over Gombi Local Government
Area and did not sight the wreckage of any aircraft within the
vicinity.
