Wayne Rooney Equals Thierry Henry To Go Joint Third In Premier League All-Time Goalscorers

Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney's goal against QPR today means
that he is now level with Arsenal legend Thierry Henry in third on the
list of all-time Premier League goalscorers.

Rooney scored his second league goal of the season in the win over
QPR, striking at Rob Green's near post after an exchange of passes
with new arrival Ander Herrera. The goal means that he has now scored
175 Premier League goals for United, equalling Henry's record.

The goal leaves Rooney 13 goals behind second placed Andrew Cole, but
85 behind leader Alan Shearer. Rooney's total of 175 goals have come
in 377 league appearances for United, 119 more than Henry required to
reach the same total.

Rooney's goal came as part of a win that will relieve new United boss
Louis van Gaal, who had not won any of his previous four competitive
games in charge of the side. United have now picked up five points
from their opening four Premier League games and sit ninth in the
table.

No United player took more shots against QPR than Rooney (4)
