Aka Ikenga Threatens To Take Lagos Monarch To ICC

Aka Ikenga, an Igbo think-tank, has threatened to take the Oba of
Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu, to the International Criminal Court, ICC, over
his alleged threat to Igbo living in Lagos, if they failed to vote for
his preferred candidate, Akinwunmi Ambode, in Saturday's governorship
election.

Aka Ikenga President, Chief Goddy Uwazurike, described the threat as
one against humanity, noting that freedom of choice was an inherent
right nobody could take away from Ndigbo.

He said: "We have waited for a retraction in vain, but we have stated
it repeatedly that people should vote according to their conscience
without any fear or favour. Freedom of choice is an inherent right and
nobody can take it away from Ndigbo.

"For the avoidance of doubt, threat to one Igbo man is a threat to us
all. We shall do our civic duty as directed by the Independent
National Electoral Commission, INEC, and the security agencies we have
copied this release.

"It is a known fact that we seek free and fair elections. Where were
Yoruba and Hausa/Fulani threatened for their votes?"
