I Will Restore Ohakim's 10,000 Jobs If Elected --Ihedioha

Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives and governorship
candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Imo State, Chief
Emeka Ihedioha, has promised to restore the disbanded 10,000 jobs
provided by former Governor Ikedi Ohakim if elected governor this
year.

Ihedioha, who made the promise after a road show with party supporters
in Owerri, regretted that the victims of the job loss had continued to
wallow in avoidable economic pains since they were thrown into the
already labour market.

"I will create sufficient jobs for our people mainly by reactivating
our technical colleges and I have already started this in my capacity
as the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives and my
government will be one that you all will be proud of", he boasted.

The PDP governorship candidate speaking while addressing a crowd at
the party secretariat in Owerrri, explained that the road show was
meant to enable him ascertain the level of mismanagement in the state
by the APC controlled government and gave an assurance that he will
improve the people's life through the provision of qualitative
education and conducive environment for teaching and learning. He
accused the state government of shoddy execution of projects without
adherence to due process, lamenting that a N43 billion loan secured by
the state government from banks was wasted on frivolities.

"Governor Rochas Okorocha built poor quality roads with shovels and
wheelbarrows and these roads have not only become dilapidated few
months after they were built but have become death traps," he said.

The governorship candidate, who also lashed at the governor for
appropriation of land in the state, pledged to train teachers in
English, Mathematics and arts in order to accelerate the interest of
students in science subjects.

He, therefore, charged all the party members to retire to their
various wards, villages, kindred and communities educate the rural
dwellers why Okorocha should be rejected at the polls.
