Governorship Aspirant, 17000 Others Dump APC For PDP In Taraba

A governorship aspirant of the All Progressive Congress (APC), in the
recent party's gubernatorial primary election and 17,000 other members
of the party have left the party to join the People's Democratic Party
(PDP) in Taraba State.

The aspirant, Yususfu Akirikwen walked out of the recent APC
gubernatorial nomination alongside two other aspirants at Jolly Nyame
Stadium the venue of the APC primary election.

Akirikwen, who announced his defection at a rally of the governorship
candidate of the PDP, Dickson Ishaku in Jalingo, Taraba State capital,
said he and the 17, 000 APC supporters had decided to leave the APC
due to lack of internal democracy in the party.

"Four of us contested to be the flag bearer of the party in the state,
one person out of us hijacked the whole process, we complained to the
national secretariat of the party and nobody has ever called us," he
claimed.

He announced the names of the defected APC members across the 16 local
government areas of the state, displaying their membership cards as he
did.
