The Abia State Police Command has paraded six suspected killers of a
traffic warden in Aba, Emmanuel Nwankwo, who was killed on February 24
while on duty at the popular Brass Junction.
The suspects were Chisom Solomon, 17; Temple Ikpeazu , 21; and Justice
Wisdom,19.
Others were Sunday Nwabueze, 21; Jacob Orji, 17; and Uche Jumbo.
Commissioner of Police, Joshak Habila, who paraded the suspects,
said one of them, Solomon, was arrested with a locally made pistol by
a patrol team at Umuojima Junction during a random stop and search
operation.
The CP said, during interrogation, the suspect confessed that he was
an armed robber and a member of Vickings secret cult.
He said the suspect revealed that one "Teco Daco," still at large, was
responsible for the killing of the late traffic police officer.
He said the suspect later led detectives to arrest other members of
the gang, adding that they would be arraigned as soon as
investigations were concluded.
But one of the suspects, Wisdom, denied any involvement in the alleged
killing, explaining that he was a student of Ngwa High School and was
returning to his house one evening when he was arrested by the
police.
Similarly, another suspect, Orji, said he was not a robber but was in
his house when police returned with his cousin and arrested him,
alleging that he was a cultist and member of a robbery gang .
