UNKNOWN gunmen have attacked the Special Adviser to the Rivers State
Governor on Media and Publicity, Opunabo Inko-Tariah.
The incident occurred on Thursday night at Israel Ama bridge in his
hometown, Buguma in Asari Toru Local Government Area of Rivers state.
Narrating the incident yesterday in Port Harcourt, Inko-Tariah
explained that as he approached the bridge, a group of armed men
opened fire on his vehicle, a Ford Escape, with Registration Number,
Rivers 105 RVGN, and riddled the back right hand seat axis with
bullets.
The governor's aide, who said the incident occurred about 8pm, pointed
out that it took the efforts of his police escort, who was by his side
at the front of the vehicle, to repel the gunmen.
"I am still shocked over what happened. I was completely confused. The
police escort told me not to stop the car and that I should continue
to move on. It was God that saved my life.
