FOLLOWING the verdict of Governor Martin Elechi that Chukwuma Nwazunku
remained the authentic speaker of Ebonyi State House, the House at
its plenary yesterday passed a vote of confidence in him(Chukwuma
Nwanzuku) for his transparency and mutual relationship in the House.
In a motion, Mr. Chike Ogiji, representing Ikwo South constituency,
said the speaker had been exhibiting good virtues as a leader who had
never compromised his duty for any selfish interest.
He described the speaker as an epitome of humility, peace maker and a
great achiever who had carried the activities of the House, based on
the stipulation of constitution of the country.
Seconding the motion, Mr. Valentine Okike, representing Onicha West
constituency, urged the speaker to continue to pilot the affairs of
the House with the full support of members.
In a voice vote, the motion was adopted by members with standing
ovation, while the speaker, Nwanzuku, thanked the members and the
people of the state for their support and prayers.
Meanwhile, the House, after receiving the report of the committee
investigating Mr. Blaise Orji, representing Afikpo South East; Mr.
Frank Onwe, representing Ohaukwu North and Mr. Eni Chima, representing
Afikpo South West for alleged fraudulent act and gross misconduct,
recalled the three members who were hitherto on suspension.
The speaker in a voice vote, lifted the suspension and charged them on
good behavior.
The House also commended Governor Martin Elechi for the infrastructure
development scattered across the 13 local government areas of the
state.
