Mairuwa, one of the drivers of Governor Umaru Tanko Almakura of
Nasarawa State along Obi Keana Awe Road.
Mairuwa, in the company of his wife, Salamatu, during a visit to his
home town, Keana, in Keana local government area of the state, was
shot twice on the chest at about 8:30am at Tudun Adabu village.
The gunmen were said to have told the wife not to panic as they were
only after the husband's life.
Confirming the incident, Nasarawa State Police Public Relations
Officer, ASP Numan Isaila, said the command deployed its officers to
recover the body of the deceased as investigations were on to uncover
the killers.
