ISIS Burns Captured Pilot Alive, Releases Video Of It

Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) fighters published a video of
themselves torching captive Jordanian pilot to death in a cage.

Lt. Muath al-Kaseasbeh was captured by ISIS after his fighter jet was
shot down in December. Jordan spent few weeks trying to negotiate the
release of Kasasbeh but with no result. And this Tuesday an unverified
footage titled 'Healing the Believers' Chests' showing brutal murder
of pilot has emerged.

The pilot is shown locked in a cage, he is wearing an orange jumpsuit
doused with a liquid, possibly a flammable liquid. Then a masked
militant touches the ground with a flaming stick and a trail of fire
quickly finds its way to the cage where Al-Kaseasbeh stands.

The man is set ablaze and kneels to the ground. Fighters then pour
debris, including broken masonry, over the cage which a bulldozer then
flattens, with the body still inside.

Although there was an information about Al-Kaseasbeh's death in early
January but it was not confirmed. Now Jordan says that Kasasbeh was
murdered one month ago, on January 3. However, the video is yet to be
checked for authenticity.

The pilot's death has gripped Jordan and provoked protests in the
southern part of the country where al-Kaseasbeh's tribe lives. The
protesters were reportedly calling for the government to avenge the
pilot's death and to execute the captives ISIS wanted exchanged for
his release.

The United States condemned ISIL's actions and called for the
immediate release of all those held captive by ISIL."We stand in
solidarity with the Government of Jordan and the Jordanian
people,"White House spokeswoman Bernadette Meehan said.
