NABTEB Releases Results, 67% Passes English And Maths

The National Business and Technical Examinations Board on Thursday
announced the release of results for the 2014 November/December
National Business Certificate/National Technical Certificate and the
Advanced National Business Certificate/Advanced National Technical
Certificate examinations.

The Registrar and Chief Executive of NABTEB, Dr. Olatunde Aworanti,
who announced this at the board's headquartres in Benin, Edo State,
said 45,725 candidates scored five credits and above including English
Language and Mathematics, representing 67.01 per cent in the NBC/NTC
examinations, as against the 36.64 per cent recorded in May/June
examinations.

Aworanti explained that a total of 77,588 candidates enrolled for the
examinations which was held in 1,951 centres worldwide.

He said out of the figure, 70,014 persons registered for the Ordinary
Crafts Level while 7,574 candidates enrolled for the Master Crafts
Level.

He also said that the board had certified a total 18,926 craftsmen in
various trades, under the Ordinary and Advanced Levels.

The Registrar, however, noted the rate of enrolment was still below
expectation, in view of the nation's quest for rapid technological
development as well as the vital role of technical education in the
country.

He, therefore, called for favourable policies to provide increased
participation in NABTEB programmes in Nigeria.

"Both National and State Houses of Assembly should legislate on the
establishment of more modern and well-equipped technical colleges in
all local government areas in the country," he added.
