PDP To Change Name, Merge With APGA, Labour Party And Others

According to a Premium Times report, leaders of the Peoples Democratic
Party, PDP, are plotting to change their name and merge with smaller
parties who possess similar ideologies following its loss at the
recent national elections.

A source reportedly said the PDP is planning to merge with the All
Progressive Grand Alliance, Labour Party, Kowa, Hope Party and others
to form a mega opposition party to challenge the APC.

"There will be a special convention after the handover on May 29 where
a formal merger process will start," he said

Governors Sule Lamido, Godswill Akpabio, Muazu Aliyu and a few other
governors are championing the push towards forming an alliance with
other parties, it is believed.
