May, 2015 embarked on an indefinite strike to press home their demand
for the payment of outstanding salaries.

Rising from the meeting yesterday, lecturers in IMSU unanimously voted
for an indefinite strike starting from Yesterday until their salaries
are paid.

The Lecturer of the institution yesterday resolved to boycott classes
until the government paid them their outstanding salaries and bonuses.

The industrial action paralyzed academic activities at the institution
as the lecturers stayed away from work. Students who had come for
lectures were observed discussing their frustration in hush tones
among themselves.

A leading member of the Union, who preferred anonymity said the
academic staff had no option other than to stay away from work because
the non-payment of their salaries had made life difficult for them.
