Speaking at the Command's Headquarters in Abakaliki, the state
Commissioner of Police, CP Maigari Dikko, said that his men nabbed
members of a three-man gang of rapists who gang-raped one Sandra
Ajiogu and murdered one Chioma Ezekele, who were students of Kingdom
Secondary School, Idembia, Ezza South Local Government Area of the
state.
He said one of the victims; Chioma Ezekele was shot dead because she
refused one of the suspects, Sunday Nwali a.k.a Machine from having
carnal knowledge of her.
Dikko added that the police smashed a four-man gang of Uchenna
Okereke, Chukwuma Ozoemena, Nwabueze Nwonu and Sunday Nwali for the
murder of the son of one Orie Okorie.
He said: "The three suspects were arrested on June 5, 2014, charged
for conspiracy and murder and remanded in prison custody.
"While on patrol along Amasiri/Ohoazara road, a team of policemen
attached to Afikpo Area Command, intercepted three suspects, Agwu
Moses Ikechukwu, 23, Elias Azubuike, 37, Ebere Stanley Eseni, 48 and
Esolonu Ibe, 42 for unlawful possession of firearms
"A 32-year-old man, Paul Emenike of Oguta, Imo State who specialised
in using fabricated master key to steal vehicles/valuable properties
was arrested on a tip off while trying to steal Mercedes Benz car with
number plate AK 728 HZ, property of Oguji Gabriel of Nnebo Ofoke
Ishieke village.
"A serial killer identified as Chukwuma Isaac of Okaria village in
Abaomege, Onicha LGA rampaged his community by waylaying and murdering
at the same spot and in cold blood."
