PDP Calls For Total Cancellation Of Imo Guber Results

Following alleged monumental election frauds orchestrated by the All
Progressive Congress APC in both the Guber and State assembly
elections with the help of the Independent National Electoral
Commission, INEC in the State before, during and after the 11th April
2015 general election, the Peoples Democratic Party PDP in Imo State
has called for the total cancelation of the entire result.

Although the electoral Umpire had earlier announced the election
inconclusive due to irregularities in some booths and had also
scheduled the run-off for the 25th of April, but the PDP in a press
briefing yesterday submitted that after critical analysis in what
transpired on the manipulations, rigging, ballot box snatching and
writing of election results with fake result sheets from the North by
the APC, the PDP calls for the total cancellation of the 11th April
election in Imo State.

Some of the facts cited by the chairman Bar Nnamdi Anyaehie include
the use of card readers in Areas of PDP stronghold, the inducement of
INEC officers with money by the APC to write results in their favour,
falsification of results in Ezinihitte Mbaise and Oru East LGAs to up
turning the PDP winning result, which was exposed by the collation
officer, yet the results were accepted by INEC.

Other are writing of results with non customized results sheet, which
party agents are forced to sign under duress, at gun point especially
in Ideato North and South, Oru, Nkwerre, Oru West, Nwangele, Isu,
Mbaitolu Ikeduru LGAs to motion but a few.

The party also accused INEC of inconsistence in reducing the number of
the polling units earlier announced for the re-run few days to the
scheduled run date. PDP wondered if not conspiracy to rig the party
out for INEC it gave Ideato South a clean sheet when there were new
reported cases of electoral violence in Umuobom, Ogboko, Umuchima,
Obioha, Isiekenesi among other Wards, to the electoral body.

It was also disclosed that results of two federal House Seats won by
the PDP and that of the Orlu Senatorial zone are being manipulated to
overturn the victories infavour of the APC by some INEC officials who
are paid by the APC.

Barr Anyaehie, on behalf of the PDP called for the outright
cancellation of the of the results and redeployment of INEC officers
from outside the state to conduct a new and fresh election.
