Muhammad Imam Still PDP Borno Guber Candidate Despite Court Ruling --Campaign Organization

The Muhammad Imam campaign organisation has said that, the court
judgement on Wednesday against its candidate will not deter their
efforts towards rescuing Borno as their candidate remains the standard
bearer of the PDP gubernatorial election in the state.

A statement from the organisation, which is made available to
journalists in Maiduguri reads: "Following the outcome of the
judgement by the Federal High Court in Abuja, we call on our
supporters to remain calm and steadfast in our struggle to rescue
Borno.

"The Federal High Court in Abuja is the court of first instance and
hence we have the right to appeal and our lawyers have already
appealed against that decision. We have also applied for a stay of
execution pending the outcome of the appeal which by law is our right.
Muhammad Imam still remains the valid candidate of our party, PDP".

The campaign organization also called on their supporters not to
relent in their efforts at mobilizing people and ensuring the ultimate
victory of the party at all levels.
