Twitter on Monday announced that it has suspended no fewer than 10,000
accounts in a single day, to suspected have Islamic State (IS) links
and for tweeting violent threats.
Some media reported that it was impossible to verify the assertion
independently saying Twitter's data is not public, but if confirmed,
it would be the biggest anti-IS action by Twitter.
The action came against a backdrop of rising criticism that Twitter
has allowed the Islamic State to exploit the social network in the
spreading of propaganda.
Twitter had previously announced the suspension of about 2,000
accounts in recent months.
