Chad Military Bombs Boko Haram Bases In Nigeria

Chad's military has carried out series of air strikes against Boko
Haram bases in Nigeria.

The onslaught was in apparent retaliation for the killing of over 30
people in N'djamena's twin blasts by suspected Boko Haram militants on
Monday.

A statement from the Chadian military, which was obtained by Reuters
revealed that the airstrikes caused heavy human and material damage to
six bases belonging to the sect, although the locations have not been
made known.

Chadian forces form part of the Multinational Joint Task Force,
alongside those of Nigeria, Niger and Benin Republic, fighting to end
the Boko Haram insurgency in Nigeria's northeast and the Lake Chad
basin area.

"Our defence and security forces will hunt down without mercy these
terrorists without faith nor law so that spilling the blood of
Chadians will not go unpunished," the Chadian military noted in a
statement.

The twin attacks at a Police Headquarters and a training school were
the first in the country's capital.

The government has also announced measures aimed at checking the
activities of the terrorists, including a ban on wearing of full veil
across the country.
