Buhari Pays Surprise Visit To Chibok

ALL Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate General
Muhammadu Buhari paid a surprise visit to Chibok in Borno State
yesterday to view for himself the town from which over 200 schoolgirls
were abducted last April.

As part of his nationwide campaign, General Buhari hit Borno State
yesterday, addressing a mammoth crowd in the state capital Maiduguri.
After the event, military commanders who provided security, were
surprised when the general said he wanted to visit Chibok and refused
to provide him security cover until they received clearance from their
superiors in Abuja.

Despite their objections, however, General Buhari insisted on visiting
Chibok and left for the town despite their of the refusal of men of
the Joint Task Force (JTF) to go along with him. Upon arrival, he was
moved when he came out and saw the thousands of Civilian JTF members
who had volunteered to provide security for him and the Borno State
governor Kashim Shettima.

In Chibok, the people and parents of the abducted girls also came out
to welcome General Buhari and his entourage and escorted him around
the town singing and dancing. After he addressed the people and
parents of the girls, a pastor offered prayers for the safe return of
the entourage back home and for General Buhari's victory at the polls.
