PDP Orders Other Parties To Remove Jonathan's Pictures From Posters

A member of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustee (BOT),
Chief Emmanuel Iwuayanwu, has given a seven day ultimatum to political
parties other than PDP to remove President Goodluck Jonathan's
pictures from posters of their candidates or face a legal action.

Briefing journalists yesterday at the party's secretariat in Owerri,
Iwuayanwu noted that this became imperative following the
misconception of the electorate towards such posters.

He described the act as fraudulent and capable of misleading the
people while lambasting such parties as weak and incapable of
attracting a presidential candidate.

Iwuayanwu dismissed the claim in some quarters that the PDP is not
ready for the forthcoming election, hence their reason for applauding
the postponement of the election and warned the Independent National
Electoral Commission (INEC) not to shift the elections again as he
assured that his party is fully ready to face the election.

According to him, INEC should revert to the old system of voting and
ditch the permanent voters card (PVC) as it not feasible for
distribution to be completed before the new date of the election. He,
however, added that the PVC could be used for bye elections.
